15 Legitimate Work From Home Jobs That Pay Good Money

Even though working from home is becoming more and more common, a lot of people are still unaware of all of the different legitimate work from home jobs & opportunities that are out there.

That's why I've put together this list of more than 10 work from home jobs that pay up to – and over – $50,000 per year. Yes, you really can earn a full-time income with these jobs.

However, before we get into the list, let's talk about some of the benefits and challenges of working from home:

Benefits of Working From Home

A lot of people want to work from home just so they can quit their job. That's definitely a great benefit, but there are other benefits, too:

1. No more driving to work, just wake up and you're there! This will save you time and money.
2. You don't need to pack a lunch. I mean, you could, but it's kind of unnecessary.
3. You'll be more productive. And happier.

The Challenges of Working From Home

Working from home is awesome and the perks are great, but there are definitely some challenges of working from home, too:

1. It's lonely. If you love being around your coworkers, working from home may not be for you. However, there are always other ways to connect with people from home.
2. Procrastination. Working from home means you need to be self-motivated and actually do work. Procrastination WILL try to stop you.

Work From Home Jobs That Pay the Bills

1. Start a Blog

Blogging is an awesome work from home job because it opens up so many different income opportunities and the amount of money you can make with a blog is virtually limitless. The income from a blog is also pretty passive since a blog post published 5-months ago could still generate revenue today.

2. Teach English Online

According to ABCNews, China is pushing the English language in an effort to promote internationalism. This has exploded the popularity of online English tutoring and it's only going to get more popular.

If you have a knack for teaching, you can capitalize on this opportunity. 

There are a handful of online English tutoring sites popping up, so you can either apply to your favorite one or apply to multiple in order to get more work. The qualifications required vary on each site, so make sure to read each one carefully before you apply.

Here are the top two English tutoring sites I could find:

• VIPKid – bachelors degree required. Earn $14-22/hour.
• MagicEars – bachelors degree not required. Earn $18-26/hour.

3. Work From Home With Amazon

We've all heard of Amazon before, that's a given. But, have you heard of Amazon FBA?

FBA stands for Fulfillment By Amazon and it's a program that allows you to start selling on Amazon. The way it works is pretty simple:

1. You find a product you want to sell on Amazon – Most people start out doing retail arbitrage, which is where you buy something from a store (e.g., Walmart) and then sell it on Amazon for a higher price.
2. You ship the product to an Amazon warehouse – After you find a product you want to sell, you ship it to an Amazon warehouse and they'll handle the rest.

There's obviously a bit more to it, but you get the idea. Since you're selling on Amazon you get access to millions of customers which is why this work from home job has so much earning potential.

Many people are earning over $100,000/year through Amazon FBA.

4. Flipping

When I say flipping I'm not talking about backflips or front flips, I'm talking about buying something for one price, and then re-selling it for a higher price. It's a simple concept that works wonders if you know how to do it properly.

The best and fastest way to get started flipping is to come up with a budget (I'd start with $50) and then head down to your local thrift store and start looking for things to flip. While you're browsing make sure to download the eBay app on your phone so you can research products as you shop.

Once you have a bit more experience and know-how, it's possible to make over $100,000 per year flipping items for profit.

Transcriptionists take audio and turn it into text. It's not the most exciting job but it helps people all over the world enjoy content that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. That's pretty amazing.

• You have a great attention to detail
• You're a good listener
• Your typing speed is at least 60 WPM

6. Proofreader

If you're one of those people that enjoys pointing out other people's grammar mistakes, you might be able to use your skill to turn a profit as a proofreader.

8. Facebook Ad Manager

Writing an eBook is a bit riskier than the other work from home jobs on this list because it can only make money once it's finished. You could spend 3-months writing an eBook and then only a handful of people may buy it, or worse, none at all.

BUT:

If you do manage to create a successful eBook, the benefits are huge. That bad boy can sell over and over again without much maintenance. That's passive income baby.

So, how can you make sure your eBook WILL sell?

The best way to do that is to build an audience around a certain topic first. After that, find out what problems your audience is dealing with and give them a solution in the form of an e-book.

However, how do you build an audience? Well, the best way to do that is to start a blog.

Another option is to go where an audience already exists. For example, Amazon has a massive Kindle customer base that you could potentially market to. The only downside is that Amazon will take a cut of your sales and you'll be dealing with a lot of competition.

10. Freelance Writer

A freelance writer is someone who writes articles, blog posts, sales pages, emails, etc. for other businesses in exchange for sweet cash money.

Since so much digital content is released every single day on the internet, freelance writers are in high demand.

Oh, and if you think you're not a good enough writer to get paid for it, think again. As long as you can write complete sentences and market yourself a bit, you can get paid as a freelance writer.

11. Scopist

A what?

That's what I thought when I first heard of this work from home job, and it's a completely normal response too – most people have never heard of Scoping before.

So what is it?

A scopist is someone who edits transcripts for court reporters.

Since court reporters get paid per page and not per hour, they hire scopists to speed up the editing process so they can make more money.

Did you catch that?

Scopists help court reporters make more money. That makes them extremely valuable and in high-demand. Cha-ching!

12. Pick Up Garbage

Yes, you read that right, and no, I'm not kidding.

You may be surprised to find out that this simple business of picking up litter can bring in 6-figures per year.

Write down the work from home jobs on this list that interest you most, figure out which skills they require, and start working on them. Once you find the job that suits you best, work at it harder than anyone else. That's how you'll find the most success.
